After Wanted, Runk and I headed over to see Mongol. It was really good in a totally different way than Wanted. It's a little slow at points, but it's an art movie and you get a history lesson at the same time... so quit complaining! Do you know if this movie is based upon a book? I forget the name but it sounds like a book that I was looking at in the library.
I don't know if it is based on a specific book... but I did read somewhere that it is based on the currently accepted SCHOLARLY view of Genghis Khan's early life. (whatever that means?)
It definitely depicts him differently than my preconceived notions...
The other great thing is that this is only the first film of a planned trilogy. So presumably if this one makes enough money we can look forward to 2 more films about the great Khan.
